Spring football schedule

Spring football opens at the crack of 5:45 a.m. on Thursday morning up in Orono. All practices are open to the public.

2009 Maine Spring Football schedule

Thursday April 9 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Friday April 10 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Saturday April 11 - 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Tuesday April 14 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Wednesday April 15 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Friday April 17 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Saturday April 18 - 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Tuesday April 21 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Wednesday April 22 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Friday April 24 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Saturday April 25 - 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Tuesday April 28 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Wednesday April 29 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Friday May 1 - 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Saturday May 2 - 10 a.m. Jeff Cole Spring Scrimmage

First chance to see:

• QB Warren Smith who will be taking his first official snaps in a Maine practice, after transferring from Iona, which disbanded football after the 2008 season.

• No defensive coordinator has been officially named, but Joe Rossi, the current defensive backs coach, will be handling those duties during spring football.

Jenn covers Maine college sports for
the Portland Press
Herald/Maine Sunday
Telegram.

A former Portland Pirates beat writer who has covered two winter Olympics for the paper, Jenn will expand her beat this year to include the University of Southern Maine, St. Joseph's College, Bowdoin College, the University of New England, and Southern Maine Community
College.

She will continue to cover the
University of Maine Black Bears, the state's only division one program.
