Maine's football schedule

The Maine football team still needs one more opponent before its 2009 schedule is complete.

Maine added Albany to its schedule on Sept. 19.

According to the sports information department Maine is in talks with a few different schools about filling its final date but nothing is imminent.

The school is pursuing a team to play in Orono on Sept. 5 - the date left open when Florida State dropped Maine.

Here's what the schedule looks like so far:

Sept. 5 Open Date
Sept. 12 at Northeastern
Sept. 19 at Albany
Sept. 26 at Syracuse
Oct. 3 Delaware
Oct. 10 at Hofstra
Oct. 17 Richmond
Oct. 24 Open Date
Oct. 31 Massachusetts
Nov. 7 at James Madison
Nov. 14 Rhode Island
Nov. 21 at New Hampshire

A former Portland Pirates beat writer who has covered two winter Olympics for the paper, Jenn will expand her beat this year to include the University of Southern Maine, St. Joseph's College, Bowdoin College, the University of New England, and Southern Maine Community
College.

She will continue to cover the
University of Maine Black Bears, the state's only division one program.
