Hoops transfer enrolled
UMass transfer Travon Wilcher is enrolled in classes at Maine, confirmed Coach Ted Woodward today.
The 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward will be eligible to play next winter for the Black Bears.
"Honestly I'm just glad he's here with us," said Woodward on Tuesday. "He called us and wanted to come up here. Right now I'm focused on the guys we have. He's a kid who's a talented player. It's a long way down the road."
Wilcher played a year of prep school at Lee Academy in Lee, Maine before going to UMass. He is from Springfield, Mass.
Wilcher played in three games for UMass this season, and sat out last year to meet NCAA requirements.
The Maine men are on a two-game winning streak after dispatching New Hampshire at home Monday night in double OT.
