Another QB into the mix. . .

Former Iona College quarterback Warren Smith is enrolled in classes at Maine and will compete for time at the position this spring, Maine Coach Jack Cosgrove said today.

Smith - 6-1, 180 pounds - is one of 112 casualties of the disbanded Iona football team.

Maine's coaches got a chance to see him when the Black Bears pounded the Gaels 55-7 back on Nov. 2 in Orono.

In that game Smith completed 19 of 31 passes for 122 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown toss. He was picked off twice.
