The Seawolves are 8-7 and expected to be legit contenders this season having beaten Air Force this year, and UMBC - who Maine plays tomorrow night.

We caught up with Coach Ted Woodward this afternoon when the team arrived at UMBC.

"We played well, hard together and did a lot of things as a team as we wanted to do," said Woodward. "I just think it was a very good team win."

Maine got 12 points from Malachi Peay, 11 from Mark Socoby and 10 from Gerald McLemore.

"We all played very well together on the defensive end of things and did a good job shutting them down," said Woodward. "Offensively we know when we play together we have a lot of different options to us. And all of those options were in use. Were able to establish ao good balance inside and outside."

• The Maine women (2-12) will look to pick up a first conference win against Hartford (6-7) Saturday at 1 p.m. at Alfond Arena. The women have lost eight straight.
