Ticket push for Black Bear football
By 4 p.m. the UMaine marketing department had sold 4,000 tickets for Maine's showdown with rival New Hampshire at noon on Saturday.
The school was running a $5 ticket promotion that boosted its usual pre-sale. The promo ended at 4.
Officials expect another 2,000 students, and a walk-up crowd to swell the crowd above 6,000.
The game will go down as one of the biggest in Black Bear football history.
No. 17 ranked Maine (8-3, 5-2 CAA) hosts No. 11 New Hampshire (8-2, 5-2 CAA) with the 2008 CAA North Division Championship and a potential NCAA playoff berth on the line.
