Ben True to run in Saturday meet

A few notable Mainers will be returning to the state on Saturday to run in the Murray Keatinge Invitational at UMaine.

  • Tops among those names: Greely's Ben True of North Yarmouth. True is in his final season of eligibility at Dartmouth and is scheduled to graduate in March 2009.

    True has been named an All-American in cross country, outdoor track and field and nordic skiing during his time with the Green.

  • Former Ellsworth standout Corey DeWitt who also runs for Dartmouth, will be returning.

  • Casco's Miles Bartlett is the top men's runner for the Black Bears.

  • Hilary Maxim from Old Town and Vanessa Letourneau from Fairfield are tops for the UMaine women.

    The meet will include teams from Boston College, Dartmouth, Duke, Holy Cross, New Hampshire, Yale, Central Connecticut and the University of New Brunswick.

    It starts at 10 a.m.

    the Portland Press
    Herald/Maine Sunday
    Telegram.

    A former Portland Pirates beat writer who has covered two winter Olympics for the paper, Jenn will expand her beat this year to include the University of Southern Maine, St. Joseph's College, Bowdoin College, the University of New England, and Southern Maine Community
    College.

    She will continue to cover the
    University of Maine Black Bears, the state's only division one program.
