Starved for hockey?
I'm guessing this last weekend was bit tough to stomach for some of you die hard Maine hockey fans.
Top seed UNH swept No. 8 UMass and will face No. 4 Boston College in the Hockey East semi-finals next Friday. No. 2 Boston University will take on No. 3 Vermont in the late game on Friday.
And Maine...well, Maine players are going to class and maybe hitting the links? A few have started their pro careers.
Here's a bit of news I rustled up around the web to help fill the void.
Goalie Ben Bishop lost his first professional start 3-2 against the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday night.
He made 20 saves in the loss, and has a 3.06 goals-against average and .870 save percentage. Bishop and his new team - the Peoria Rivermen - are trying to qualify for the AHL playoffs.
Defenseman Travis Ramsey played in one game for the Manitoba Moose, registering no points.
No stats yet on Rob Bellamy, who was assigned to the Philadelphia Phantoms.
