Big night for Maine Hoops

The women defeated Boston University 82-77 at home.

  • Tanna Ross scored a game-high 22 points at forward
  • The lead changed 20 times during the game.
  • Five Maine players scored in double figures

    The men dropped Albany 81-70 on the road

  • Mark Socoby led Maine with 20 points
  • Kaimondre Owes added another 18 while sinking 8-of-8 free throws
  • Maine rallied from a 12 point deficit and hit 64.7 percent of shots from the floor

    Telegram.

    A former Portland Pirates beat writer who has covered two winter Olympics for the paper, Jenn will expand her beat this year to include the University of Southern Maine, St. Joseph's College, Bowdoin College, the University of New England, and Southern Maine Community
    College.

    She will continue to cover the
    University of Maine Black Bears, the state's only division one program.
