Bishop's 50th win earns him league award
Maine goalie Ben Bishop turned away 41 shots for his first shutout of the year in Maine's 4-0 win at Providence on Saturday.
This morning he was named the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week for his performance.

Bishop's career record is now 50-26-6 at Maine, making him the fifth player in program history to win 50 or more games.
The win was much needed for the Black Bears, now 8-10-2, 4-7-2 in Hockey East - and allowed the team to creep out of last place to 9th with 10 points.
Maine is win shy of catching Vermont and Massachusetts in the standings. Those teams are tied for 7th place with 12 points apiece.
Maine hosts Boston College up at the Alfond this weekend. The Eagles are tied for first in the league and ranked eighth in the nation.
