Jammin' out with Rob Bellamy

Rob Bellamy throws perhaps the hardest hit of anyone on the University of Maine hockey team.

Seen a game in the last four years and you probably know that.

Here's something you don't know: Bellamy also has a penchant for performing cover tunes.

He's all over YouTube belting them out with the new guitar he got this summer.

And...He's actually pretty good.

"Maybe it's a hidden talent," said Bellamy with a laugh. "I love music and wanted to learn how to play and finally got one this summer."

He does Kenny Chesney, Justin Timberlake, a little Hootie.

"If people like it they like it. If they don't, they don't," said Bellamy.

Here's a little ditty called "For You I Will" to feast your ears on.

Here's Rob doing a Hootie and the Blowfish cover.

Requests? We'll get them to Orono's burgeoning guitar man.

Ummm...he's got about the same amount of singing talent as does his hockey team -- very little. Maybe if Rob spent less time on the guitar, Tanner spent less time assaulting women in bars, and Ben spent less time flopping around on the ice, Maine *might* be a .500 team. Naw, probably not.

Go UNH!!!!

How about breaking the news that Whitehead was fired??? Now that would make this a worthy blog.

Here's a great article from yesterday's Boston Globe on Montel Owens that would work too. It's funny because earlier you had an entry talking about Montel and the Pro Bowl voting, and here he is coming "home" for a playoff game and nothing? We have to read about him in the Globe??
