Wilson to start in goal Saturday

Backup goalie Dave Wilson will start against New Brunswick in Maine's exhibition game Saturday night in Orono, said Coach Tim Whitehead.

It will be the first start of the season for Wilson, who has seen just 23 minutes in relief appearances so far. He has a 10.37 goals-against average and .733 save percentage this season.

Whitehead said he plans to get all of his rookies in the game, and expects a competitive game.

"Regardless of who’s dressing once that puck drops we're going to play," said Whitehead. "They beat UNH this year. They're very talented, don't play hack and whack. They play good hockey."

The University of New Brunswick is 12-0-0-1 this season. Unlike NCAA institutions in the U.S., the team is allowed to use former professional players.

Wilson went 2-6 last year for Maine with a 3.12 goals-against and .893 save percentage.

I've been waiting for my boy Monty to show up...Monty where are you? Kind of funny how you disappeared after watching a Maine hockey player get busted for grabbing a woman's breast at a bar, and then seeing your team lose 4 in a row to the bottom feeders of Hockey East. Typical.
