Maine Hockey Skids

Some cause for concern?

Maine hockey is on a four game slide after getting swept 5-1 and 2-1 by Merrimack College this weekend on the road.

The losses follow a pair of 6-2, 1-0 losses to Providence College at home Nov. 16 and 17.

The team, which has a very young roster to begin with, has had a shallow pool of players available lately with seniors Wes Clark and Vince Laise out with injuries and freshman Tanner House serving a six game suspension (he's served four games).

The losses have dropped Maine into 9th place in the Hockey East standings.
Maine is 2-4-1 in Hockey East, 4-6-1 overall.

Maine has a thin schedule coming up, with just three regular season games (one exhibition) before the December break. Those games are staggered just one a week, which may afford some time for injury recovery.

Up next:
Nov. 25 vs. Vermont
Dec. 1 vs. New Brunswick (exhibition)
Dec. 8 vs. Merrimack
Dec. 16 at New Hampshire
