Baseball player walks onto Hockey Team
Get this.
Nolan Boike was a pitcher for the University of Maine baseball team last spring, going 1-1 in five starts with a 8.07 ERA.
Friday, Boike wore No. 36 for the HOCKEY team, making his debut on ice as a senior walk-on.

Boike tried out as a walk-on his freshman season but was turned away.
At 6-foot-2, 200 pounds Boike, 23, played on the team's third line at right wing with freshman Keif Orsini as his center, junior Chris Hahn as the left wing.
He played fall baseball, and caught up with captains practices when he could squeeze it in according to the sports information department.
Very interesting.
After the game (Maine won 4-2) Coach Tim Whitehead said he had been in talks with Boike this fall, and thought the timing was right to give him a chance.
"I thought he was very effective," said Whitehead. "He didn't try to do too much. I think he's going to be a good player."
