Defense Re-stocked
Linebacker Andrew Downey (ankle) and cornerback Lamir Whetstone (knee) were cleared to participate in full-contact practice today, making a return likely for Saturday's game at Stony Brook.
Downey and Whetstone

Both Downey and Whetstone have missed Maine's last two games - Hofstra and William & Mary - and it showed.
Downey was Maine's leading tackler (41 total, 19 solo) before his two missed starts. He is in the midst of a breakout season, and will be a significant help.
Whetstone leads Maine's cornerbacks with 19 total tackles - that's despite missing the two games.
