Future Hockey Players

Two future Black Bears will play against the Maine hockey team Saturday as members of the U.S. Under-18 National Team.

Forward Kelen Corkum and defenseman Ryan Hegarty, both members of the team, will attend Maine next fall.

Corkum is the son of retired NHL veteran Bob Corkum who starred at Maine from 1985-89.

The exhibition game begins at 7 p.m. at Alfond Arena.

A former Portland Pirates beat writer who has covered two winter Olympics for the paper, Jenn will expand her beat this year to include the University of Southern Maine, St. Joseph's College, Bowdoin College, the University of New England, and Southern Maine Community
College.

She will continue to cover the
University of Maine Black Bears, the state's only division one program.
