Lonely in the win column

It's been a rough start to the sports year in Orono.

Maine's fall sports have gone a combined 7-26-2. Ouch.

Volleyball: 1-12
Field Hockey: 3-4
Football: 1-2
Women's Soccer: 1-3-2
Men's Soccer: 1-5

Women's cross country won its first meet against Vermont and Massachusetts at the UMass Invitational.

Although they don't really have a 1-0 record (you don't get a loss for finishing second or third) that puts them in the lead as the most successful team in Orono this fall.

Men's cross country is not far behind, finishing second at the same meet.

But who's counting?
