Redshirt time?

Neither third string quarterback Chris Treister of Portland or H-back Jared Turcotte of Lewiston (Fitzy winner) have gotten any game action so far with the Maine football team.
But it is still premature to redshirt either one, Coach Jack Cosgrove said today.
"To me it's how valuable will the season be to them," said Cosgrove. "You hate to have them play and not get that true experience."
Both players have travelled with the team, and will continue to do so.
Treister is more likely to redshirt with two quarterbacks ahead of him in the system. Turcotte appears to have chance of being utilized at some point this year, but may also ultimately be redshirted.
"Turcotte is closer to playing than Treister," said Cosgrove. "We are anticipating a possible need for him."
A decision is likely to be made by some time in early October.
