Lopsided loss at UConn

It wasn't pretty folks.

The University of Maine football team was blown out 38-0 by Connecticut Saturday night.

Maine picked up just 152 net yards, gave up 379, and were slowly worn down by the bigger, stronger Huskies.

Said QB Michael Brusko: "We got outplayed tonight by a better team. We didn't make big plays. We had way too many negative plays."

Said Coach Jack Cosgrove: "We've got a whole bunch of things to look at, a lot of things we have to work out. We've not thrown for over 100 yards two weeks in a row now."

A former Portland Pirates beat writer who has covered two winter Olympics for the paper, Jenn will expand her beat this year to include the University of Southern Maine, St. Joseph's College, Bowdoin College, the University of New England, and Southern Maine Community
College.

She will continue to cover the
University of Maine Black Bears, the state's only division one program.
