The other football team. . .

Not only is the Maine football team off to a 1-0 start on the 2007 season
but the men's futbol...okay, soccer team...is also off to a 1-0 start.

This after an 0-17 season last year.

No ... freshman Alex Rickett scored the game winner in OT last Friday against Massachusetts for a 1-0 Maine win. Senior Jimmy Velas of Falmouth assisted on the goal.

Catch the men's team tonight at Yarmouth High School at 7 p.m. They will take on Holy Cross.

A former Portland Pirates beat writer who has covered two winter Olympics for the paper, Jenn will expand her beat this year to include the University of Southern Maine, St. Joseph's College, Bowdoin College, the University of New England, and Southern Maine Community
College.

She will continue to cover the
University of Maine Black Bears, the state's only division one program.
