Here's what's happening this week in the First District congressional race:

Wednesday, March 19

11 a.m., Democrat Adam Cote announces his campaign's veterans' steering committee, One Canal Plaza, Portland.

Noon-1 p.m., Democrat Michael Brennan moderates a roundtable discussion on the state budget at the University of New England's campus off Stevens Avenue in Portland. For more information, call 773-1323.

6:30 p.m., Democrat Mark Lawrence speaks at the Bath Democratic Committee meeting, Patten Free Library, 33 Summer St., Bath.

Thursday, March 20

5 p.m., Democrat Adam Cote holds an open house at his campaign's new Sanford headquarters, 909 Main St., Sanford.

5:30-7 p.m., Democrat Mark Lawrence attends a reception for the candidate at the law firm of Prescott Jamieson Nelson & Murphy, 37 Beach St., Saco. To RSVP, call Andrew Dyer at 490-6275.

5:30-7 p.m., Democrat Chellie Pingree attends a campaign party, Concept Copy & Design, 138 Glenwood Ave., Portland.

6 p.m., Democrat Adam Cote meets with business leaders at the Heart of Biddeford office, 205 Main St., Biddeford.

Friday, March 21

7 a.m., Democrat Adam Cote attends a Good Friday breakfast hosted by Christian Leaders in Maine Business, Sable Oaks Marriott, 200 Sable Oaks Dr., South Portland.

5:30 p.m., Democrat Ethan Strimling attends a campaign party at the home of Peter O'Donnell, 110 Starbird Rd., Portland.

Um, last time I checked there were two political parties involved in this race.

These are all Democrat events.And inane ones at that.

While I'm sure everyone in Maine is super-glad to know Strimling is going to a party at some guy's house on Friday, you really ought to at least pretend to be balanced in your coverage.
