Newsweek article rekindles Somali controversy in Lewiston ...
The article on Lewiston is a small part of the printed magazine but it appeared much larger online. News of the story and links to Newsweek's Web site spread by e-mail and, by 5 p.m. Thursday, the day after it appeared online, 87 people had commented on the article. By contrast, a story on Pastor Rick Warren's prayer at President Barack Obama's inauguration drew 15 comments … Many of the comments about Lewiston seemed to come from city readers, discounting the facts of the article and sometimes insulting Somalis.

I think it appropriate to post the link to the Newsweek article to people can decide for themselves, rather than having you quote (without attribution)the Sun Journal .

I'm from Lewiston Maine and this article is a LIE!
Would you want prayer rooms and foot baths in your public schools?
What happened to separation ofchurch and state?
They hit the economy bad in Lewiston when they were dumped there by Catholic Charities!
They made this mess.
Towns should not have to bear this burden in the schools and in housing and most are on our welfare. NOT FAIR.
Any time you say anything about them you are a racist.
It's sickening the shit this author wrote and they are lies and the author should lose their job.
Although this year we have seen the most incompetent media EVER. They are nothing but a bunch of Kool-Aid drinkers and creeps.
Somali did NOTHING for lewiston but cause trouble for Lewiston and MONEY.
Wouldn't you think they would be grateful. Not his demanding bunch... and assimilation? NOT!
P.s They can't drive either! Accidents galore.

To the individual who suggested that I quoted the Lewiston Sun Journal without attribution: Please review the original post. There is a hyperlink to the SJ story with the phrase “Source: Lewiston Sun Journal”. I’m not sure how I could attribute it much more clearly than that …

Maine cartoons, I agree with that poster. The proper thing is to use quotation marks.
