Martinsville preview and pick/Lucky Dogs/Joey Logano
Here's the NASCAR Newscast: Goody's Fast Pain Relief 500 Preview:
I'm not so sure about the weather for today and tomorrow. Hopefully they can get qualifying in, which is scheduled for today at 3:30 p.m. on SPEED. At least it looks clear for race day.
Before I throw my pick out there, here are a few things to chew on:
Last week, with Joey Logano blowing a motor, the announcers were talking about the possibility of him falling outside the top-35 in the point standings and having to qualify for this weekend's race. However, Logano held on by the hair of his chinny-chin-chin, landing 34th in the point standings.
-- Do you think this week Logano will fall below the yellow line? Oops, that's The Biggest Loser, sorry about that (my mind's still on Clint Bowyer's appearance on TBL). Do you think this week Logano will fall outside the top-35 in the point standings?
-- How many lucky dogs do you think Dale Earnhardt Jr. will receive during the race, if any?
-- Will Jeff Gordon break his losing streak?
I'm going to play it safe and go with Jimmie Johnson for the win.
I like Hamlin. He has a top ten here in all but one of his races. Logano might be in trouble next week. I wonder if Gibbs will get nervous and do something drastic immediately.
I give jr two lucky dogs. seems to be his average.
I planned on picking JR until qualifying was rained out. Guess I will go with JJ. I do believe Jr will get his first top 5 though. Lucky dogs.....maybe 1, depends if Tony Jr lets him stay out and get some track position for a change....If he keeps calling him in on every caution for 4 tires he could set a track record for lucky dogs. I hope it doesn't happen, but I think this could be the week the 20 falls out of the top 35. :) went to the race last fall and saw the JR/Shrub dustup...how sweet it would be to see the same thing happen again.:)

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
