Dover pick

Johnsonheadshot091809.jpg

Based on the information I provided yesterday, I'm going with Jimmie Johnson for the win at Dover International Speedway. He has three wins, four top fives, and eight top 10s. Not to mention that he is simply on fire lately.

Yesterday afternoon my boss called me in her office and said, Are you writing about this? She was pointing to her screen which read, "NASCAR Cancels Remainder Of Season Following David Foster Wallace's Death." My heart sank. With a little further research, we discovered it was the Onion's doing. Phew.

Here's the broadcast schedule for this weekend.

All for now...

It should be a great weekend of racing. As much as I want Carl to win, or JR, I think Kyle will take the honors.

I'm going with Kyle, also.

Hey, Jacko, you must have been sitting right near us on Turn 4. We also parked up by the water tower, but missed the arrest. In July, someone parked their car over a smoldering campfire and security was trying to get a tow truck up there to drag it off.

With Rick's direction, Jr's going to get a win but probably not at Dover. Talladega may be all his.

Jessica Simpson is having a concert at Lowe's when the Cup race is there in October. Now that she's done with Romo, which driver will she be dating? LOL!!

Jr is saying fans should mind their own business about how he talks to his crew chief.

Yeah, I heard that whole interview and was disappointed that he doesn't get it. Cousin or no cousin, he works for Hendrick and should change his attitude. He has a right to say what he wants on his radio, but is going out on a limb risking his fan's loyalty and respect. The negative comments to Tony only hurt his chances for success. He doesn't get that.

That is probably why Rick has stepped in. He has told Jr that he doesn't "communicate well" on the radio and he should be aware that others are listening.I kind of wonder why anything is being said now since Jr has talked like that for years.

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
