Looking for something to do Sunday?

NHMSlogo1.JPG

On Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at New Hampshire Motor Speedway you can get behind the wheel of a full-motion simulator to feel what it's like to drive a racecar. Click the link above for pictures of what it looks like.

I think it looks like A LOT of fun. I will not be attending but if I was, I'd hate to be the person waiting to try the simulator after me. There would likely be a struggle to get me out of the car...

If you are able to attend, there will be giveaways throughout the day from Camping World, Heluva Good! and Coca-Cola. The Ticket Office and souvenir store will be open as well if you still need to purchase tickets for the upcoming race at NHMS and grab a few souvenirs.

If you hadn't heard, NHMS is again giving away prizes at the race on Sunday, September 14. To be eligible for prizes, you must purchase a ticket by the close of business on September 10.

The prizes are:

-- A brand new Chevy Malibu
-- Twenty fans will share gift cards to Hannaford which total over $6,000
-- Ten fans will each win a pair of tickets and pre-race pit passes to the June 28, 2009 LENOX Industrial Tools 301.

Right now, the weather is mostly cloudy in Richmond. Qualifying is supposed to be at 6 p.m. Here's hoping they get it in.

All for now. Have a nice weekend.

If anyone else is going, by all means go try the simulator. It is great fun. We got in one at Bristol a few years ago. I caught the edge of the wall on pit road and rolled the car I don't know how many times. Sorry, Newman!

Well, we have a double header today: two races. Everybody still sticking with their original choice?

of course. And it figures that it will be a nice day and we have two races and Pats football all afternoon.

Oh, yeah, Denny Hamlin. Home track and his team seems like they are finally clicking.

Will be giving fingers a work out on the remote with the Pats playing at the same time.

Go Pats, Hamlin and Keselowski!

Wow. Disappointed that Johnson won the cup race. I have issues with one of his sponsors. Happy Cousin Carl won the Nationwide. What does everybody else think of the races?

Disappointed that Smoke didn't get his win, but he is really good at Louden so I am looking forward to next week. I am not a big fan of HMS but I do like Jimmie and have a hard time not wanting to see him win.

Also disappointed for Keselowski. He had a horrible race.

Just an FYI, Frankie Stoddard's predictions this morning were that the Chase will be all Jimmie Johnson. He said Carl will probably not do well at Louden and Kyle has to have a great race this week or he will drive too hard and aggressive the rest of the Chase. Has he not seen Rowdy drive yet?

I am waiting to hear Ricky Craven's take. He's pretty good at picking winners.

Just got word that we did break the Guiness Book of World Records at the Sharpie 500 for the biggest "wave". I can download a certificate. Cool.

Anyone want to go to Louden that doesn't have tickets? Just heard that there are seats left and they are on sale 2 seats for the price of 1, about $80. Contact NHMS.

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
