Brickyard pick

Heading to the brickyard...I love this place.

Stewartkissingbricks2.JPG

When I think of the Brickyard, I think of Tony Stewart automatically. So I'm going with my first instincts and am going to pick him to win this weekend. He has two victories here at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the Cup series. Plus, he's bound to get a victory this year and this just might be the place for him to do it. So there you have it.

Can he and I break our losing streak of 0-for19 this weekend? I really want to think so.

Here's the broadcast schedule for the weekend.

Who do you think will be kissing the bricks?

I am going wih my guy, Carl. I think Tony should win it, but he has too much on his mind and is not racing well.

Well, I am going with Kyle Busch, not just because he has won the most races, but because of the history behind this track. A win at Indy is huge and I expect Rowdy to really want it.

There may be announcements coming from the Stewart-Haas camp this weekend since this is Tony's home track.

I like Kyle, but his flat track races have not been the best this year. I will pick Jr for this weekend based on nothing more than gut feling.

It was reported on the local news last night that Tony will be using the #14 at Indy today instead of 20.

Well, let's hope it works for him.

Well, I don't know what they were talking about because that number still looks like 20 to me.

I hear ya there Racefan. I mean, it's absolutely stunning that you would come on here and report some news that would have no shred of evidence of being true at all. I mean stunning really. It only happens what, 5-8 times a week that you come on here and say something that has zero possibility of happening, despite the fact that you confirm that it's going to happen. I guess you were still busy trying to figure out when Kyle Busch got disqualified at Lee after he showed up at the last minute to run a race there.

I would rather hear a rumor related to Nascar than a full seven line paragraph running a fellow Nascar fan down....again. I mean, someone who is as knowlegable about racing as you SJH should realize that Nascar could have its own version of the National Enquirer. There are always rumors that turn out to be nothing.

This is ridiculous. We are simple folks, loving Nascar. One does not need to run another blogger into the ground. Trying to show us how much you know about Nascar racing and its workings does not impress me in the least. What does impress me is the comraderie, honesty, and good fun one offers when they contribute to this blog.

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
