Camping World East: race two results

Campingworldeastlogo.jpg

Here are the unofficial results from yesterday's Camping World East race at Iowa Speedway.

The drivers that I have been watching finished: Austin Dillon - 2nd, Steve Park - 5th, Ricky Carmichael - 7th

Carmichael had issues all day long, so pulling of a 7th place finish is really good. According to the press release, Carmichael started in 36th position and three laps into the race he got involved in a wreck and had to stop for tires.

Said Carmichael: "When we got turned around on lap three it flat spotted our best tires. From that point on, it was an uphill battle all day."

The DEI Development Drivers, Trevor Bayne, Jeffrey Earnhardt and Jesus Hernandez, all had strong finishes. Fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

"We really wanted to have a good run today," said Earnhardt, grandson of legendary NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt. "It’s really cool to know that all three teams ran like they’re capable of. Now we can go to South Boston with our confidence up."

The next Camping World East race is May 31 at South Boston (Va.) Speedway for the Strutmasters.com 150.

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
