Where do you go for your racing news?
I'm curious about something... On my ride into work this morning I got to thinking. Yes, that alone is a very scary thought. But I was wondering where all of you go to get your racing news.
What websites do you find the most reliable? Do you google search your favorite driver to find out recent information? Do you use NASCAR.com or Jayski?
I get press releases delivered to my email which makes my life a bit easier. I'm not all that fond of the setup at nascar.com. I think there's just too much to look at. My brain can't handle all that's being thrown my way on that page. I do like jayski.com. Jayski updates information so quickly and I like that.
How about local racing here in Maine? Do you care about it? If you don't, why don't you? Afterall, racing is racing.
Where do you go to find out what happened at Oxford Plains, Beech Ridge, or Wiscasset on any given weekend?
I don't think there's all that much information on local racing, if any, printed in Maine newspapers. Maybe a brief here and there and possibly a rundown of a race. So what do you do? Where do you go?

E-mail this entry to a friend
Could be cool to see the local results on the sports page linked at the top.

Depends on what I'm looking for. Nascar.com and Jayski are different. Nascar tends to give you the news you already know like race results. I do like to read some of the writer's articles except for D.C. who will write anything to just fill up space. Jayski gives you more rumors and driver appearances.
I was also given a subscription of Nascar Scene recently and that has great pictures of the previous weekends race, assorted articles, and interesting news that you don't read anywhere else. (Such as, the reason Morgan Shepherd managed to finish at Talladega. Tony Stewart and Matt Yocum provided him with the tires he couldn't afford.)
The best place to go for news is the Nascar chatrooms. The fans know everything.
The newspapers don't have enough car racing coverage outside of listing results. And the names of those drivers are not people you recognize. It would be nice to have some articles highlighting the local drivers.
Television sportscasters do an even worse job. They mostly can't even pronounce the names of the drivers right. There is a New England racing newspaper. I forget what it's called.
I think the lack of interest shows.I read your friend Shawn's (CT)articles sometimes. I passed the article he wrote about Smoke last year along to Stewart fans and they really liked it.

If anybody voted for Robby for the All Star race, it is working. He is in the fight for 1st place. Keep voting.

I don't follow the Maine race scene. I go to Fox/Nascar web site to get all of my info. I am mainly interested in the drivers and the owners and racetrack info. I don't enjoy hearing about the real technical info, i.e. tires, drafting, etc., even though I know they can be important. I do enjoy hearing about owners, potential moves, driver relations. I don't really feel a lot of this info has a bearing on the winner or the other top placers in races. So, I guess I am just a senior lady who enjoys the races and interacting with all of you.

The papers in Maine really miss the boat on local racing coverage. I've found the best place to get local racing news is actually a blog called green-white-checkered.

Everything I need to know I get from Bump Draft.
Racefan, where are you getting the All Star vote results? I just logged a couple of hundred votes for Robby and wanted to see if it helped.

Hello,
my name is Rob and I am a NASCAR fan from North Carolina just a few ( seemingly ) miles from Martinsville Speedway! My dad used to race in the Modyfied series years ago so I was around racing most of my life. To get my news I usually check out the usual sites Jayski's being the best for he pulls from all sites. The NASCAR.com site is useless and worthless totally!
This is a unique situation for me to search around on the net to read news and find out info about racing and other things of interest for I am blind... yes you read right... I cannot read newspapers so rely on a PC or radio-TV to get my news and WATCH a race! The NASCAR.com website is worthless to me and my computer to read anything with all the macromedia or whatever you want to call it and all the ads cause numerous problems to me when I ever attempt to go on the site. I HATE NASCAR.com and would not miss it if it ever disappeared and did not ever exist again and if I knew the proper persons to tell I would express that to them so pass along if you know the proper channels.
