Kyle Busch: Good hard racing or not?

On Friday night, Steve Wallace got into Kyle Busch in the Nationwide race. After the race Busch went over and exchanged words with Wallace, being a big cry baby about the confrontation on the track. Wallace said it best in his post-race interview, "He's just a little girl about it."
Busch was carrying on about how he didn't care about wrecking equipment and the points didn't matter. Real nice. It just reiterates what I already believe, he's reckless.
On Saturday night during the Sprint race, Kyle Busch got into Dale Earnhardt Jr., wrecking him. He claimed it was just good hard racing. Hhhmmm... Maybe in Busch's mind it's just good hard racing when he is the one to cause a wreck. He also probably realized that Junior Nation wanted to snap his little body in half for wrecking Junior.
If you ask me, there is no difference between what happened Friday night and what happened Saturday night other than on Friday, Wallace didn't wreck Busch. Wallace was just racing hard for position and got into the back of him. A mishap is a mishap. Wasn't it just good hard racing just like Busch was doing with Junior?
If Junior Nation wants to point fingers, they should also point them at Denny Hamlin. After all, he deliberately stayed on the track to bring out the caution. Priceless.

On Friday Steven Wallace tried to move Kyle Busch out of the way from behind. On Saturday Junior and Busch were racing door to door for position. Apples and oranges. Did Busch wreck Earnhardt or was there contact while racing for position? I don't think Busch wrecked Earnhardt.

It was the same either race. Racing for position and stuff happens. Busch did not intentionally wreck Earnhardt, and as has been suggested in chat rooms, take him out just because he got the ride at HMS. Interesting perspective from one Jr fan- Jr's been racing longer than Kyle, he should have prepared himself more for that kind of rush from behind no matter who it was.Good thing Kyle didn't win. You would have seen fans throwing stuff. And I am sure Jr and Kyle had a conversation that we didn't see.
Smart move on Hamlin's part to stay out and be the caution. Heartbreaking finish for him.
As far as wrecking equipment, Kyle and his brother both have been known to have stupid stuff come out of their mouths. They're getting better but still need improvement.I am sure he cares about points otherwise he wouldn't be trying so hard to be first in every series and he is obviously very happy at Gibbs.
Nice to see the race at Rockingham yeaterday. The place looks really good. Racing at The Rock was always one of my favorites.

Good hard racing? Well, it was hard racing.
I have no axe to grind either way- not a fan of either.
But, if there is a guy with a faster car behind you, you are always liable to go for a spin if you choose not to get out of the way- especially on a short track. The ancient rule of thumb is that if you get a quarter panel under the guy…. it is your position. If there were fifty laps left, Jr would have taken the care way up the track and let him go.
But with three to go, barring a certain relationship: respect, teammates, owing a racing favor- they gotta race hard
And let’s be honest, Busch owes Junior nothing- he took his job. I know if I had been Kyle I would not have blinked at putting Dale Jr in the wall. Nothing personal- just short track- and I, Kyle, owe Dale and your team, nothing.
Busch isn’t reckless; you don’t finish that high in the point standings year after year after year unless you take excellent care of your equipment. He’s just a hard case.
Dale Jr will get his win. NASCAR is competitive enough that you have to run Top 5 consistently to get a win or two. By definiton, at the end of season, the series as a whole will average one win per five top five finishes.
Jr has three top 5s- he’ll get there.

If it were a Black car with the # 3 on the side, no one would think anything was wrong with the way he is driving. All these same things seemed to happen to Big Dale, the most popular NASCAR driver ever! It was a bad deal for Jr but it was a racing incident. With a handful of laps to go and two hungry drivers, something is going to happen. Rubbings racing!
Now Jen go get yourself a bag of M&M’s and enjoy the day!

EVERYBODY SEE'S THINGS THE WAY THEY WANT TO SEE IT, Especially those with double standards. If Dale Jr. says it's racing - then thats the way he saw it. He is not a cry baby.

I think racefan should FedEx a bag of M&M's to Jen.

I agree with SJH, the incidents on Friday and Saturday night were not comparable. Wallace moved Busch on purpose, Busch wrecked Earnhardt because he could not keep his car down. He ran out of talent.
I liked seeing Wallace move Busch out of the way, but he shouldnt be calling Busch a little girl unless he himself was man enough to hold the position that he took from Busch. Wallace moved up the track because he knew Busch was going to turn him.
D.W. Please, do not EVER , EVER, compare Busch to SR. SR moved people out of his way a time or two, and by moved people out of his way I really mean "just meant to rattle them a little". He did it in a way that earned him respect, and by respect I mean fear. I dont know that any one really fears Busch. And SR would have never just lost his car under JR. (unless he meant to rattle him a little."

I think Jen owes me a bag of M&M's. Just think of the trauma I went through after seeing my pick of the week lead so many laps only to lose a tire at the end. I don't know if I will get over it.
And JUSTRACE THECAR, there was a time or two when Sr deliberately took somebody out. I remember once when he took out a lapped car that wouldn't get out of his way and got black flagged for it. That just ticked him off more and he ended up winning the race. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I was a huge Sr fan and still am. Bought a new Sr shirt at Talladega and just received the specially marked #3 Heshey bars.
Hershey has a collectors edition out for the #3 with special wrappers and candy bars. I found one in Virginia. Can't find them here. I got the whole set through Ebay.
Also if you send a picture of yourself to DEI, they will add it to the mosaic they are making. It can be viewed on the DEI website.

Justracethecar, it’s impossible NOT to compare Busch to Dale Earnhardt Sr.
People forget because in his later years Senior was adored by so many, but in his early years he was hated in much the same way Kyle Busch is for mostly the same reasons. He was arrogant, aggressive, mouthy, didn’t back down from anyone and raced to win every race. The comparison is VERY easy to make. Very very easy.
And it was far more than a couple times that Earnhardt recklessly moved people out of his way. He wasn't "The Intimidator" because he wrecked a couple guys.

And I do struggle to remember any time that someone said after getting "moved out of the way" (a nice way to say wrecked) by Earnhardt that they "respected" him any more because of it afterward. He was feared, not respected. And drivers right now fear being in the path of Busch because they know he won't back down and settle for "a good points finish." He's everything the sport needs right now to offset the points racers at Hendrick Motorsports. And yes, Junior is a points racer, plain and simple. Even he said after the race that he was more disappointed that he didn't get a good finish out of it. That's a points racer talking right there.

I agreed with you, SJH. Kyle is good for the sport. He brings alot of excitement to every race, something that's been missing for along time.I really like this kid. He's out to win every pole, lead every lap, and win every race. He won't sit back and settle. He works for it.
Everyone is up in arms over the Jr-Busch thing. How come nobody's mentioning Mikey and his little temper tantrum?

I don't agree with your article at all!!! Kyle Busch is proving the only way he can win/compete is by wrecking other people. He struts around like he is God's gift to Nascar and everyone should bow down to him. F that. He's trying to make himself something he's not...a real race driver. Rick Hendrich made a excellent choice in firing him. Too bad race fans have to watch him "take out" other drivers in both series. For some reason, Nascar doesn't appear to be doing anything about Busch's driving as they would with any other driver but I'm sure he will get exactly what he deserves by the other drivers or fans. Extra security won't always be there to protect the poor baby.

Maybe I was misunderstood. I surely know that SR moved people out of his way at will. That being said SR. always let his bumper do the talking. Im sure if you dig you may find some trash talking quote from him, but you never heard him whining like Kyle does on camera. That is where they are not comparable.
I definetly admire Kyles' desire to win races, all races. I think his kind of driving/racing is good for nascar. But enough with the on camera whining, save it for the track. SR did.

People did fear SR, because they knew he would move them out of the way. People fear Busch because for all the talent that he does have, He usually finds a way to loose that talent when they are hard racing. How many races has Jeff Buton taken from Busch with out even touching him. If Kyle can find that fine line, between hard racing and out of control, hes unbeatable.
