Here's a bunch of stuff running through my head

There's not much going on in the NASCAR world. Or maybe I should say not much that is interesting to me right now. So here's a little bit of this and that that's rattling around in my head...

-- The whole sharing of points thing really gets to me. Seriously, I can't understand why Red Bull Racing would have committed themselves to A.J. Allmendinger. Didn't they think of the possibility of being outside the top 35 in points before committing to him? Allmendinger has sat out of the last two races and Mike Skinner has driven the car. It's not a good way to introduce newcombers to the sport. Why wouldn't they have just pursued Skinner in the first place to drive for the season? I'm sure I must be missing something here. I'm just ranting. I know you'll let me know if I'm off base or incorrect.

-- I'm excited about the Camping World East Series this year. There are a few drivers that I'm going to be watching: Ricky Carmichael, Steve Park and now I'll be watching the number 3 car again with Richard Childress' grandson Austin Dillon driving it. It's a sharp looking car also.

-- Tony Stewart still needs a haircut. I'll go a bit further and say that he should dump Subway and possibly try being a spokesperson for Jennie Craig. It worked for Valerie Bertinelli. She's really got it going on now thanks to the program.

-- I just read the most unbelievable story about a woman fused to her toilet seat. It's completely off topic but it's something I can't stop thinking about. I am sure that after you read it, you won't stop thinking about it either.

All for now...

It should be an Earnhardt in that car, as in, Jeffrey Earnhardt.

FROM JEN: I don't think it needs to be an Earnhardt in that car. It would be nice, but I'm sure Childress wants wins and let's be real here for a minute, he probably wouldn't get that with Jeffrey.

I am a huge Earnhardt fan, and would love to see an Earnhardt return to the three. However, I am a realist and know that there are only so many numbers to go around in this sport. I think the time is right for a three to return to the track with any driver. Imagine the pressure put on any driver number three in the Sprint Cup!

A case could be made for many drivers numbers to be retired, and most of those are still used regularly.

Maybe Tony should fuse himself to a toilet to lose weight.

FROM JEN: HILARIOUS. I only wish I had thought of Stewart being fused to the seat. I laughed out loud on that one.

Is Austin Dillon a better driver than Jeffrey? Really, that remains to be seen.

FROM JEN: I doubt very much he can be any worse. A pretty good gamble if you ask me.

Jeffrey Earnhardt finished 5th in the Busch East Series, now the Camping World East Series, last season. He finished ahead of a former series champion (Mike Olsen), a Joe Gibbs Racing driver (Marc Davis) and a Rusty Wallace Inc. driver (Chase Austin). I guarantee Earnhardt finishes ahead of Austin Dillon this season.

Jeffrey is under contract to DEI. He will be making a few appearances in Nationwide Series races this year. He's Kerry's son, MsBoogity.

I for one was a huge Sr fan all through his career. To see that #3 on the track to me would still be too sad. I would like it retired.

There is Nationwide this weekend. Could have another win by Rowdy or Jr's driver, Keselowski, might come in first. He's getting close. I hope Jr keeps him.

Enough with the Tony bashing. He suffered through waxing for donations to Victory Junction and today he is down at Mark Martin's Fan Appreciation Day signing autographs. He does alot of good stuff.

Tony is ok. He just can't show hhis heart and his mouth gets in the way sometimes. Racefan, who are you picking to win the Nationwide race?

Keselowski is going to get one before long. Bowyer is King of the Concrete though. I expect him to take it this weekend. Bowyer's second Busch start was at Nashville, and he nearly won. If he had not gotten impatient and crashed all four of the top cars (handing an unlikely win to Michael Waltrip) then he would have probably taken it.

I'm going to pick Kyle, but I'm hoping for Keselowski.

OK. I will be brave. I pick Kaselowski to win today . Bowyer will be in the top five, and Kyle will be in the top ten. Exciting.

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
