Stewart and Busch on probation

Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch have been placed on probation for the first 6 races of 2008 due to an altercation on the track during practice last Friday at Daytona International Speedway. During the practice Stewart got into Busch sending him into the outside wall. Busch retaliated by driving into the side of Stewart's car a few times.

It doesn't look like any fines were issued. Probation starts tomorrow at practice.

They should have thrown them both out. Pack you bags and get out of here!!Enough is enough, and maybe they should have set an example. We are not going to take this crap, starting now. Get - we don't need you!

if you dont want to see these guys rough each other up, try watching F1. After one F1 event you'll be begging for some racing,Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch style. Besides didnt you see each of their interviews after Nascar talked to them, they're like best buds now.

hmm, How would SR have handled it.

WOW Gail, I can't imagine what would happen to the sport if they threw out every driver that had a personality. Where would the sport be if they had thrown on Earnhardt Sr, Darrell Waltrip, what about fist fight between Cal Yarborough and Donnie Allison back i the 70's.

We ain't seen nothing yet.Wait until Hornish or Villeneuve or Carpentier get mad.

First of all, Kurt would never dare tangle with Dale Sr because Sr would have had his own private meeting with Busch, but it would not be in the Nascar trailer. Sr was against probations. He said you might as well put a big X on those drivers because other drivers would deliberately instigate trouble.

Larry MacReynolds told a great story last night on Nascar Now.He was referring to the Daytona 500 that Dale Sr won. He said that Dale told him to just get him behind the first car at the end of the race and that first car would not look the same at the finish line because he would do whatever it took to win that race.

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
