It's official

The I's were dotted and the T's crossed today for the change of ownership of the newly named New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Everything is now final and Bruton Smith is officially owner of the track for $340 million in cash.
The press release goes on to say:
"New Hampshire Motor Speedway is a wonderful addition to our strong portfolio of tracks and provides the opportunity for our company to expand into a new market," said Smith. "Bob (Bahre) and his staff have made this a smooth transition since we announced our agreement in Texas on November 2. We look forward to many successes in our operation of the New Hampshire Motor Speedway."
"Thanks to the support of our loyal fans, dedicated sponsors, and wonderful employees, the Speedway has grown more than Gary and I ever could have imagined," said Bob Bahre, former Chairman of the Board. "We are looking forward to working with Bruton, Jerry (Gappens), and their team and fully supporting them in their efforts to take this to a higher level for our fans."

What is the point in this official news. Like it wasn't going to happen. Why don't you find out if there is going to be a September race next year 09. That would be news.

In case you didn't watch, Yeley, Kahne, and Smoke all knocked out of the Chili Bowl.

Stewart wasn't really knocked out. He finished 8th. Not sure what you meant by "knocked out" but he was running in the end. He just didn't have what it took to do a three-peat.

I hope Loudon keeps its dates. Maybe a little more banking added. I suspect that Smith will do something original like give it 20 degree banking and turn it into a mile and a half tri-oval.

I'm confused by racefan. How was Yeley knocked out of a race he was never in? He didn't even make the A-main. And Stewart was running at the end in the 8th place. Racefan is losing it or something?

I should clarify-Nascar drivers did not do as well as in the past.

Smith will add an interactive fan area at Louden for sure.

Isn't the racetrack in Loudon? I thought the interactive fan area was in X-lot? Don't they call it Frontier Land?

X-Lot is very interactive but Frontier land is another interactive area.
What I would like to see is them add lights for a night race in June-July. And also a little banking woul be nice.
