I'd rather watch paint dry

I have been dreading this like someone would dread having a root canal. Although, I wouldn't know what that's like because I've never had so much as a cavity or had any work done on my teeth. If my dentist told me I had a cavity, I would probably get a second opinion. Simply put, I'd rather watch paint dry than to have another picture taken for the blog.

I have to try to decide if I want to pose next to another driver or do some other type of prop. I picked Dale Earnhardt Jr. as a prop for two reasons: One, because I like him and Two, because I think most people when they see that red fire suit with the "Bud" on it, know immediately it is something to do with racing. I think I said a while back that I wanted to pick a prop that would stand out and yell, NASCAR. I didn't want anyone thinking that it was about knitting, shopping or some recipe cooking-type blog.

So here I am faced with deciding if I should or should not get a new picture taken. In a way, I would prefer keep the picture as is. I hate change. I hate that he is going to a new team, new colors, new number, all of it. I hate thinking that I am going to look at the blog and see a new picture of myself staring at me with possibly a different driver also. The concept of me trying to take a picture that I actually like, makes me ill. I'll have to go and get my hair done, get my brows waxed, maybe get in a couple tanning sessions so I can "feel good" about having it done....uugh! I'm so not a fu-fu girl.

Part of me says, just leave it alone. But I am feeling the pressure of several folks saying that I can't have the same picture if Junior isn't in the Bud car. Ultimately, I think that decision is mine but I'll ask you for your two cents.

What do you think? What are your thoughts and/or suggestions? I would like to hear what wild and crazy ideas you all have. Thanks.

Why would you ask me if I had any ideas when you know whose picture I'd want? Put up a picture of Tony.

Did you buy the Dale Movie dvd set yet? Great bits of Junior with his Dad in it.

Keep Jr in his new digs. Can't wait till he is away from the wicked stepmother is all ways.

Tony aint going to let you stand near him. Better off getting a cardboard cut out of his car instead. Better yet just go stand in front of a Home Depot.
Seeing a red fire suit with Bud on it just makes me want a beer.

Jimmie Johnson won the championship. I think you should pose with him, cardboard or not. i am a JR fan, but can't stand seeing him in the old red suit with number 8 on it.

How about a picture of DJ? He's retiring this year.

See racefan...I knew you had it in you to pick someone other than Tony. I don't think I want to pick someone that's retiring though because that would mean I would have to do this allll over again and I'm dreading the possibility this time around. But thank you for the very thoughtful pick. I will consider it.

Jennifer: Why the ignoring of my emails? You emailed me when I first came on board and sympathized with my family situation. I suggested you have Jimmie Johnson in your picture. What is the problem? I find it interesting that everyone on this blog ingnores me. What is the stupid problem? Guess I will just leave it. Maine residents seem to be loyal to one another and even though I have lived here for many years and been coming here for 50 years, I never seem to be accepted, even on this stuped blog. Take care. You don't need some stupid driver to stand with in your picture. Just take it by yourself, it's your blog not theirs and you're a lot nicer to look at than any of them.

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
