Phoenix picks and a little trivia

Phoenix has been a good track for Richard Childress Racing (RCR). Kevin Harvick has won here twice, with three top fives and four top tens. Jeff Burton has won here twice also, with five top fives and eight top tens. Clint Bowyer, however, has not been so lucky with only one top five and one top ten in four starts. This year though has been an incredible year for him so I guess anything's possible.
As much as I would like to see Bowyer gain ground in the driver point standings this weekend, it is very unlikely. This track, unfortunately, has also been a good place historically for Hendrick Motorsports. And with the luck they have been having, I would expect this weekend to be no different.
My picks this weekend will be any of the RCR cars.
A little trivia, because I love trivia...
(Without looking it up)
- Can any of you name the 13 different pole sitters at this track?
- What's the farthest back a race winner has started? Who was it? When was it?
- Who are the only drivers to have posted back to back wins here?
All for this week. I am taking a few days off. I'll be back on Tuesday with my racing recap and have the answers to the trivia questions. Have a great weekend.

Well, I'm throwing in the towel and taking a wild guess that JJ or JG will win this weekend.
Nascar season should be all year long. I can't get enough racing.
I do not know what Smith has planned for Louden. I am concerned that we may lose a race later on. According to Bahre both races sell out, however I know you can buy tickets the same day as the race. So unless they get sold out on race day, that part is not true.
And a few years ago, Bahre wanted to add seats but the town wouldn't let him unless Route 106 was widened. Guess Smith won't be adding more seats for awhile either.
I'm hoping to see banking. That would be great!

You're on Sally. Geoff Bodine, Casey Atwood, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Ken Schrader, Sterling Marlin. And to add to that info, a pole winner has never won a race at Phoenix.
Ricky Rudd started 29th and went on to win in 1995.
Back to back winners are, Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, Junior, and Davey Allison.
And some more track facts (just to get my favorite mentioned), Smoke holds the track speed record.
Good luck this weekend Tony.

I have conceded the Cup as well. Smoke go and get ya some. Need the win before you get into that Toyota.

Likewise, Sal. Two more races to go and one good win (or two)for Smoke to end the season.
Everyone see where Petty's team is up for partnership? Sad to see that Nascar is so expensive now that it's hurting even the families who made it what it is. But then the King should have found himself a competitive driver.

I say partner them all up, make this sport more competitive. Petty-Stewart Racing sounds good. Get him out of that Toyota. Petty-R.Gordon enterprises.

Nooooo, Stewart-Petty. I am excited about next year with Busch joining the Gibbs team with Smoke and Hamlin. I don't care what they drive, they'll be competitive.
Petty might want to entice one of those Indy car drivers over to his side.
