Dega facts, stats and picks

Here are some facts and stats provided by NASCAR:
Talladega Superspeedway Data
Race # 30 of 36 (10-7-07)
Track Size: 2.66 miles
• Banking/Corners: 33 degrees
• Banking/Frontstretch: 16.5 degrees
• Banking/Backstretch: 2 degrees
• Frontstretch: 4,300 feet
• Backstretch: 4,000 feet

Going into the weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, I didn't really look at any statistics and/or facts to decide who I was going to pick to win. Although, I will say that being the first Car Of Tomorrow appearance at a superspeedway, one never knows just what is going to happen.
My pick this weekend will be Tony Stewart...to come in second, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. to win it. How could you not pick an Earnhardt to win at a superspeedway?
Here's the schedule for the weekend.

This is a Gordon or Johnson race for sure if they have good running COT's and survive the carnage.I've seen JG win 3 times and Johnson once in the five races I've gone to there.
I'm still picking Tony, though! I will be a true fan to the end!!!

Stewies until the end. Smoke to win. He was fastest in practice. I don't think that there will be much for carnage with the new car.Look what happened at Bristol,it was a sleeper race.I've got Bowyer in top five though.

It's easy not to pick Jr the jerk on a superspeedway. His engines suck. The other thing is he is the only Earnhardt left in cup. I think his car is going to be junk- one more of his step momma's works of art. Although Truex will probably be just fine. Either way, there are a bunch of us that really don't care where Jr finishes anyways. First or last. Next year will be better for Jr.

Bristol's personality changed, Jacko, with the new pavement. Talladega is still Talladega. There WILL be wreckage and with these snap-on COT's spewing parts all over the place when they get hit, a 4 hour race could turn into 8 hours.
Just realized Jacques will be driving a Toyota. Poor man. I was hoping to see him do well.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the top twelve in the chase will pretty much be the top twelve in the most of the race. Jamie McMurray will be there, as will Jr. And then, out of nowhere with an amazing last lap surge, comes Jaques Villeneuve! He makes the high line work, pulling a line consisting of Allmendinger, Waltrip, Sadler, and Cope. This line promptly causes a very large crash. Nascar calls the race, and awards Sadler the win. Even though he doesn't cross the finish line, Sadler completed 3 3/4 perfect rotations in the air and stuck the landing. The controversy is in the fact that he has had more practice at being airborne than the rest. The points race is completely reversed in order. We all walk away scratching our heads another weekend.
