Dover pick

We're off to the one-mile track of Dover International Speedway this weekend. Six of the Chase drivers finished in the top-ten here in June for the Autism Speaks 400. Martin Truex Jr. won and dominated most of the race.
Clint Bowyer finished in the 8th position. Could he possible get back-to-back victories? I think he can pull it off. I certainly think after last weekend's victory at New Hampshire International Speedway, he must have a MAJOR confidence boost, so my pick this weekend is going to be Bowyer.
Here's the schedule of this weekend's events at the Dodge Dealers 400 in Dover.
On a different topic, I am having a real hard time getting used to fact that Kasey Kahne is going to be the Bud man of racing. Budweiser is going to have to work really hard to get him to fit that image in my mind of what a Bud guy should look like. Maybe, just maybe, if he grew a little 5 o'clock shadow on his face (if he can) it would help.

Budweiser must have felt that Kasey could be the "Bud Man" if they gave him their sponsorship. You just have to get over all the commercials with the thirtysomething women chasing after him. He's as much of a budt man as Kurt Busch is a Miller man!

Nobody is going to be the "Bud Man" like jr was. He was the perfect canidate for that sponsorship. I dont like his new number or sponsor. It is going to be really different next year not seeing him in the #8 Bud car. On another note I am pulling for Truex to win this weekend!

Tony is the man to beat. Bowyer didn't get a win in 60+ starts. I don't expect him to blaze a trail now.

racefan- Do you EVER pick anyone other than Tony Stewart?

Heck no!
By the way, you should read Caraviello's article on Nascar.com this week. Seems last week's Nascar coverage had the lowest tv ratings ever. According to Caraviello, it was all because we New Englanders were watching Pats and Sox games. I was home from Louden in plenty of time to watch both NIGHT games.
Who knew that all Nascar fans lived here in the Northeast?

"Kasey the under-age bud boy"
He doesn't even look old enough to shave.
Maybe he should try some testosterone injections...
Truex to win at Dover.

Jimmie Jonson has pole, Kennseth qualified 10th. Smoke and Gordon are in the middle 28,29. Look for pit strategies for those two to move up. Also Clint Bowyer is starting 43rd because thats where he qualified- not because of a problem. The Toyotas of Waltrip are in, big deal.
I've got Smoke and Gordon using good judgement moving to front, but Johnson staying around in top five. Kennseth has pit problems combined with caution in first half of race and doesn't recover. Truex in crash first 50 laps.

Big predictions, Sal.
Smoke to crash in the first 30 laps due to monkey trouble.

Montoya(the devils car)in single car crash in first twenty laps. Jr blows engine last twenty laps. Jimmie Johnson over drives car into first turns halfway through race, Monster mile eats him up and craps him out bigger than baby Truex and baby Kahne.

Jeff Gordon will win Dover. Jr. will be in the top five, along with Bowyer.

JJ will get taken out within the first few laps by Montoya who will fight too hard to lead a lap. Bowyer will panic and wreck by overdriving the car to get to the front. The rest of the race will have the other ten Chase drivers in front as everyone else stays out of the way.

I like racefan's way of thinking. Marian- Jr aint finishing in the top 5 and Bowyer is starting last he will be lucky to finish 30th.
If this race is anything like the Busch race- gonna be good. Lots of cautions for a very slippery concrete surface.

Slippery surface, Smoke's kind of racing. Go, Tony.

Jacko......what was that about JR not finishing in the top five? If he had the right car, he would be in the chase, right at the top. Any smart person can see that. Great race.

HMS drivers' luck going south. Stewart 2 points out of taking first place.

Racefan - by the way, is that the same Caraviello that you called an idiot in an earlier post?

That would be he. He still is.

Jr aint going to be much until he gets AMPed up in his new Hendrick ride and then we are all going to be sorry. The driver needs to match his car. The right car is not in the DEI stable- never was. That's where daddy car was. Money talks. Yes, Smoke is only 2 points out- That's a win or top 5 from being able to have that third title.
