Richmond thoughts
I thought the racing at Richmond was actually pretty good. Maybe it was the whole points saga and where Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch were, I don't know. Honestly, for a little while, I thought Harvick was going to be out and Junior was going to be in. He had what appeared to be a solid finish brewing until he blew yet another motor.
The fat lady is now singing and Junior is not in the Chase.

Jimmie Johnson won at Richmond.
Here are the point standings after the completion of the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond Motor Speedway.

The Chase officially starts this coming weekend at New Hampshire International Speedway. I am heading down there on Thursday for the weekend events.
I will be updating the blog a few times a day with images that I have taken. So if there's anything or anyone you would like to see, please let me know and I will try my best to get some images for you.

Any view of Tony would be good to look at. And Taylor Earnhardt has been spending time with Jr in his pit at races lately if you'd like to wander by and see. I am just curious. Don't know if she will be up here in New England or not.
Home Depot show car will be in Biddeford tomorrow if any one is interested. 9am to 2pm I think.

Had a hard time catching Tony last time but I will DEFINITELY try. Will also try for Taylor, if she's there...

Check over at the corn dog stand, you might find Tony there.

Hi Jenn...1st time poster.... I have written to NASCAR w/ this idea & of course never got a response tell me what you think. When we get to the chase ONLY the 12 cars involved in the chase participate in each race. & also all the points are reset to zero so everybody is starting w/ a clean slate & a level playing field.

Just to be clear...Are you suggesting that the other 31 cars not bother to show up at the track?

Flamin...
While I love your idea of limiting the "Chase" races to just 12 cars, there's no way the business side of NASCAR would let the other 31 cars not run. Too much money tied up in sponsporships for that.
But, boy, it would sure add some real "playoff" pressure to landing a spot in the final 12. Nice idea.

Hey
Glad to have Flamin 24 make the show, but the idea of only 12 cars clearly shows that Flamin 24 has missed all the other posts. You need sponsors to run a race team, you need to run races to retain a sponsor.

If everyone watches the Chase closely, you will probably see only the 12 top cars really racing. You may get an odd one with a really good car, but most drivers will stay out of the way. The Chase concept stinks.

Tell that to the three wins Smoke had last year during the chase, then you figure who was trying to win.
