Michigan picks
For whatever reason, I am having a real difficult time throwing together an entry for you today. I'm just not feeling it. Maybe it's because I find Michigan to be such a sleeper race.

In any event, I think I'm going to go with Dale Earnhardt Jr. for the win this weekend. He has finished in the top 10 in the last three races here, June 07, August 06, and June 06. After his bad luck last week, I think he is going to be a man on a mission. He is 100 points behind 12th place driver, Kurt Busch.
Martin Truex Jr., who is 11th in the point standings, may be another contender on Sunday. He finished 2nd here in June.
Qualifying is today at 3pm on the SPEED channel. It doesn't appear that weather is going to be a factor today but the extended forecast doesn't look all that good for Sunday.
Who are your picks for the race?

I am going with Smokety, Smokety, Smoke. Three out of Four. The 20 car edging out Gordon in the last lap of hard racing.

Tony Stewart's gonna take this one. Leave everyone begging for mercy. Although, don't count out Kenseth and either of the Busch's. Just because Gordon's got the pole only means he was fast for two laps. It's all about the machine.

I am thinking Tony Stewart seeing as he was the only one smart enough, not to put his racing duds on and stand in the rain.
You wouldn't catch Lorne Wallace standing in the rain ,either.

With the rain, I think Kurt Busch has got a good chance. Although, Tony Stewart has a fire going in him. The track will be plenty slippery without any rubber on it and cleaned. Also tires are going to take a beating. High RPMs on engines. Bet Jr's car quits on him again. Should make the jump into Hendricks, now. Put Busch into the 18 right away. Then pay off J.J for the rest of his contract.

I totally agree with you Jennifer and will say that Earnhardt is a threat to win this race. He has not won since the Spring Richmond race, but has slowly put together strong finishes in between his bad luck. Junior is a great driver and one of these times he will be the class of the field and the car to beat. I'm looking for him to pick up a win or two by the end of the season and finish his time with DEI on a positive note. Once he teams up with Jeff and Jimmie, look out!
Go Junior!!!

I'm a Tony fan, but my guess would be Carl Edwards...

Jr is all washed up for this season. Well maybe for a while -just look at him ,he doesn't have any confidence. He has lost his edge.

Jacko- do you really think so? He was in the top 5 for most of the race today...

You said yourself Michigan is a sleeper..... It don't matter where you run, it's where you finish that's important. Spoken like a true Tony Stewart fan.
