Drug testing

I had a hard time coming up with a topic this morning and one of my friends threw this one out there....drug testing.

So, let's talk about NASCAR's so-called policy for drug testing, which is basically to test on suspicion. To me, it's completely unacceptable. By the time someone is suspected of using drugs, many, many lives may have already been put at risk ... in the pits or on the track.

Not to mention the fact that if you do in fact use drugs, I would guess that you would do an awefully good job at hiding it, hence the reason for a more strict enforcement for random or regular drug testing.

I think NASCAR completely does it backwards if you ask me. They should be proactive, not reactive. For a sport that really preaches safety, they are turning a blind eye on this one.

I think that anyone driving or on the crews should have drug testing no ifs ands buts about it. I never knew that it was any other way, do they drug test for other sports? What about pain meds? Should they drive if they are taking them? I don't think so

Why don't we talk about the upcoming race before it's race day. That way we can see who everyone picks. I am thinking Ward Burton, then Ambrose, Robby Gordon, then Tony Stewart. Matt Kenseth rounding out the top 5!
Better check Carl Edwards for steroids, he looks pretty cut. Maybe uppers too, cause he's always flipping.

Sal- you are just out of control. Everyone knows Stewart is gonna take it. Plus he is going to be accused by the media of blood doping because of his unique climbing style.
I pick Stewart, Kyle Busch, Said, Jeff Gordon, and Harvick.
I figure somebody will crash out Montoya about halfway through.

SAL- I SERIOUSLY don't know where you have been....I ALWAYS talk about the upcoming race on Fridays, as I will do again, today.

Not good enough, race talk should be done with enough time to banter about our drivers. Mondays and tuesdays for post race and start Thursdays with the pre-race. Give us time to to get our race trim on. Hey, it's your blog and obviously I wouldn't respond if I was not a fan of yours.

Point taken, Sal. I just try to throw out topics...not just about drivers or races but about anything that either crosses my mind or one of yours. I'm glad you're a fan of the blog. Thanks!

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
