Kyle Petty Charity Ride to kick off in Bar Harbor

The Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America will kick off in Bar Harbor, Maine on July 14th. As of right now, the ride is scheduled to go from Bar Harbor through Ellsworth, into Belfast with a possible stop in Augusta and then off to Portland. As more details on this event come, I will pass them along.

This ride has attracted more than 5,000 riders and has donated more than $9 million to various children’s hospitals and charities across the country. To make a donation and to learn more about this event, please visit: www.kylepettycharityride.com.

For the first time this year, you will be able to follow the tour virtually on www.chick-fil-akylepettycharityride.com. You will be able to see Kyle’s daily journal entries and sound clips.

Kyle Petty will not be attending the start in Maine but his father, Richard Petty will be there at the start.

FYI Racefans: Kyle Petty will be broadcasting live from his #45 car during the race Sunday. And Jeff Gordon became a father yesterday with the birth of a daughter.

I think ol’ Kyle is a good guy and I have respect for anyone that can race a car but his results have not been few good for years; I think he should be concentrating a little harder on racing the car to the front when he’s behind the wheel and less conversing with the guys in the booth. He should leave the commentating to the pros like myself!

About this blog:
I am hopeful that this will be a place where people can air their two cents' worth about a race, catch up on the gossip and share their opinions on the rules and regulations of NASCAR. I have always felt that there has been a need for such a place in Maine and that this blog helps to fill the void.
