Carl "Flippin'" Edwards wins at Michigan
His last victory was at Texas Motor Speedway, Nov. 6, 2005. Even after he was penalized for speeding on pit road and had to start from the back of the pack, he still managed to win. It had been 52 races since his last victory. At last, we finally see that back flip that he is famous for…
Ryan Newman’s lucky streak ended. He blew a left rear tire, went 3 laps down and then got tangled up with Jeff Greene. Newman was trying to race the leader to get one of his laps back and Greene drifted up the track and tapped his rear bumper.
The drivers involved in that wreck were: Kevin Harvick, Brian Vickers, Matt Kenseth, Martin Truex Jr., Greene and Newman.
Do you think a driver that is 3 laps down should race the lead-lap cars that hard?
How about Mikey Waltrip? He seemed to have his act together during this race. I wasn't even watching for him and at the end of the race, I was wondering where on earth he came from...
A quick search and I found that his last top-10 finish was May 1, 2005 at Talladega when he was driving the #15 for Dale Earnhardt Inc.
Here are the unofficial results of the race.
What did you think of the race?

I am so happy that Carl won. The last time he won was on my birthday in 2005. That made me have a great birthday. He is a fantastic driver...
I am also very very happy for JR. the move to Henddricks is a good one and i have not seen JR smile so much in a long time....
It will be a good year next year for all. count down till Loudon. 10 days till i am on pit row. i can't wait.......
Thanks for the article it was a good one..

Two views:
1. Kurt Busch- no joke- due to that 100 point penalty and his poor run yesterday (25th)- has really got a problem. He’s 150 points or so out of the Chase now- and 200+ out of eleventh.
He’s probably not gonna make 200+ points on Kyle at 11th. Not that Kyle is invincible- but Hendrick in these COT races is. So catching Jr. is his best bet (which means also catching McMurray and Newman); I dunno. I think he misses it. And if you are Miller Lite or his owner- and he misses this Chase for his dangerous revenge fantasies- I’d be furious.
2. Also, form all the ink that has been spilled recently, one would think no one could ever win at DEI. Yet DEI has two cars in the Chase. Truex Jr. seems to be able to run good each week. In the DEI B-effort. Hmmmm……
Kyle Petty was a very popular star who used Daddy’s connections and advantages to win some races for awhile. Now he’s, well, Kyle Petty. Given the choice, ten years from now- whether #8 career second half closer resembles Jeff Gordon’s or Kyle Petty’s, I know which one I’m choosing.

Kurt Busch is a hammerhead...if he misses the chase it's his own fault. He needs to brush up on those anger management classes he took while he was with the cat in the hat. Newman - he was just racing. Whether driver was in 3rd or 43rd, he better keep racing.

Carl did awesome. To come back and win after that ridiculous speeding penalty ... that's awesome. Good for him!

Montoya's been an adventure this year- but face it- he's fun to watch. Fun: hit lots of things, race hard, be fun and smile constantly. He's done that.
I've been impressed with the way he's gone along as a good soldier- just glad to be part of the show. He seems to genuinuly like the fans, the racing press and circus of NASCAR. Basically he looks like he's having fun. He did that Stewart thing on dirt- good for him, right?
He's going to finish in the Top 20 in points. And if he's not being considered for your fantasy team for the road course this week, you're making a mistake. He could win. He was very good in Mexico- and there were some real road racers there: Boris, Simo and Pruett.

I know nascar penalized Kurt Busch to make it very clear that they want pit road safe, but if nobody is allowed to get pissed(she said it first)off any more how exciting would that be. The highlight of the first televised daytona was Yarborough and the Allisons fighting in the in field. I bet nascar didnt mind the tempers that day. The viewing ratings were through the roof.
Franks probably right about Montoya at Sonoma, but Mexico,he spun his teammate,Pruet, who was the leader at the time, to get the win.bad soldier.
hey, maybe Montoya could spin Kurt Busch, then Kurt and Kyle could beat him up in the infield, like Yarboruogh and the Allisons. the ratings would be great.
PS-Mikey thought he was at the wrong track.
