IN THE WEATHER
At
9 a.m., it was a chilly and breezy 21 degrees in downtown Portland.
Take yesterday's weather. Repeat. Sunny with below normal air temps again, maybe in the upper 30s by late afternoon. The bright skies will cause it to feel a little warmer in sunny enclaves. Rain/snow moving in tomorrow, so enjoy it.

• At 6:15 a.m. SHAWN in YARMOUTH said: "It is 24 degrees and very calm outside at 6:15. No wind and it looks like no clouds. Another bright, sunny, but chilly spring morning in Maine."
• At 6:15 a.m. BILL in ROCKLAND said: "21 degrees, clear and calm, in Rockland this Tuesday morning."

A gentle day on Casco Bay today with a northeast wind blowing 5 to 10 knots with 1 to 2 foot seas.
Tide comes up today in Portland at 2:25 p.m. Low tides at 8:13 a.m. and 8:20 p.m.
ON THE ROAD:
• ON THE MAINE TURNPIKE: At mile 3 in Kittery, a northbound lane closure is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. for road work --- At mile 25 in Kennebunk, a northbound lane closure is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with a double lane closure scheduled between 7 a.m, and 2 p.m. at the Route 35 bridge for bridgework. Motorists may incur delays. --- Between mile 26 in Kennebunk and 38 in Saco, north and southbound lane closures are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. for road work. --- Between mile 38 in Saco and Exit 53 in Falmouth, north and southbound lane closures are scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for road work.

THE NEWEST NEWS:
CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW BORDER STATION on the Maine-Canada boundary near Jackman got underway yesterday with an official groundbreaking ceremony.
The 62,000-square-foot facility will be home to the Customs and Border Protection agency in Sandy Bay Township. The $26 million project is scheduled for completion in 2010. (AP)
Press Herald file photo. THERE WILL BE A MAINE CONNECTION when the upstart Davidson Wildcats take on Wisconsin in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA national basketball tournament.
Davidson sophomore Bryant Barr was playing for Falmouth High School two years ago. This Friday he'll be playing before millions of TV viewers and more than 70,000 spectators at Detroit's Ford Field.
For the season, the 6-foot-4 Barr averaged about 5 points and one rebound per game. Barr is Falmouth High School's all-time leading scorer. He averaged 25 points a game his senior season. (AP)
THERE WILL BE SCHOOL at Cape Elizabeth High School today, after a case of "extreme vandalism" from Sunday night canceled school yesterday.

DAY PLANNER
Press Herald file photo. AT 10 A.M IN MARS HILL, Gov. John Baldacci will participate in a celebration marking the one-year anniversary of the Mars Hill Wind Project.
The project just got a big thumbs up from Bowdoin College, which you can read in today's dispatches.
Today's celebration will be at the Big Rock Ski Area, 37 Graves Road, Mars Hill.
AT 1:30 P.M. IN AUGUSTA, State troopers will host the fifth annual “Blue Ribbon Relay” in support of activities that prevent child abuse and neglect in Maine.
The troopers will arrive at the State House Hall of Flags to assemble the pieces of a blue-ribbon-shaped puzzle. Afterward, State Police Chief Patrick Fleming, will address the group once Gov. John Baldacci declares April as child abuse prevention month.
