Reached Arctic Circle!
At 0215 (that's a.m.) on June 18, in bright daylight, Bowdoin and her crew of 16 crossed the Arctic Circle 66 33N at 54 38.5W.
Bluenoses we are! Realm of the North Bluenose ceremony: clad in swim attire, the reading of welcome, the painting of noses, doused by the fire hose, and kissing the stem of Bowdoin. Air temp 40 water 36.
The Bowdoin is now headed to the town of Illusiat.
Bowdoin's Arctic voyage will be featured on "Bill Green's Maine" on Saturday, June 21st at 7:00 p.m.

Congratulations on on becoming Bluenosers!!!!
Hope the voyage is going well, and like good sailors, you're getting all too little sleep. Builds moral character. Arggghh!!
Greetings from the Wm. Hodgdon house in East Boothbay, whose original owner built your fine craft in the back-yard of which I am now looking down over - so feel an affinity for the Bowdoin and those who sail her.
Fair winds and following seas!!
