Border art

Lots of interesting art stories cross my desk. Some relate to Maine, including this one about Jerilea Zempel.

As the story articulates, she was displeased with her recent experience crossing the border at Houlton.

I'm trying to locate the origins of a framed photograph I received as a gift 38 years ago, purchased from an antique shop in Iowa. It's signed on the front by Fred Thompson. Titled "At the Close of Day." On the back is the logo "TACO" Thompson Art Co, Portland, Maine Nature Studies Art Novelties.

Can anyone give me history on this?

Thank you and happy holidays!
