Kick up your heels Friday at the shoe club
We all know that stilettos are no match for the cracks between bricks; the cobblestones on Wharf Street aren't much better.
But don't let that deter you from attending the second meeting of the Hello Stiletto Shoe Club, this Friday evening at the Cafe at Wharf Street & Wine Bar. It's a great chance to show off shoes that may not get the appreciation they deserve at home and meet some new like-minded friends.
Shoe club leader Liz Wyman promises a "walk off" with prizes for whoever struts in the most fabulous shoes of the evening. And Melissa O'Shea of Boston, the founder of the Hello Stiletto club, will attend the meeting and has agreed to judge.
Tempted? It's easy to join. Sign up at www.shoeclub.us and RSVP to Liz at liz@shoeclub.us. After you join you'll have a chance to attend shoe club outings and shopping events.
The festivities start at 7. See you there! (And watch out for that rocky road.)
Sale tip
If you've dreamed of owning an Angela Adams rug, here's your chance to do it on a budget: Rush down to her Congress Street store and you'll find 2- by 3-foot cotton rugs on sale, two for $77. Some wool rugs also are 40 percent off. Definitely worth the trip...
