Cheap Fun is Priceless
If I took my kids to all the circuses, amusement parks and ice skating shows I'd like to, I'd need a home equity loan.
So a few years ago, I decided to start training myself to look for cheap family entertainment. And it’s not that easy. Often the free events aren’t advertised much, so you have to keep your eyes open.
In this blog, I’ll share what I find as I search for cheap family entertainment.
It’ll be a lot of specific events – Maine Maple Sunday and fire station open houses are favorites of mine – but I also hope to share thoughts on how to unearth family fun in your daily routine.
Have you ever let your 4-year-old climb up and down the hiking boot try-out hill at L.L. Bean in Freeport? Have you ever stopped with your children to watch the rotation of Eartha,
the 41-foot-round globe at the DeLorme map company in Yarmouth? You should.
And you should send me your ideas for easy-on-the-wallet things to do. Because the road to cheap family fun shouldn’t be a lonely one. My e-mail address is over there on the right.

Hi Uncle Ray!
How are you? We need to get together sometime! This is a great idea for a blog.
By the way, for anyone who is wondering, Willowbrook ROCKS! It's great for all ages. And there's a ton to do.
Please say hi to Jess, Sophie, Dinah, Omar, Manny, and all the Barbies and Polly Pockets for me!
