lilies and daylilies
During a rare dry day or two, Nancy took her camera out in the yard over the weekend.

The picture above shows lilies from Brent and Becky's bulbs. I'm a member of the Garden Writers Association, and in mid-June, the company sent association members bulbs -- probably ones they knew they weren't going to sell that late in the season.
This is a 'Matrix' lily, and we are surprised it did so well since we didn't plant it until mid-June. The prize of the pack, though, was a light burnt orange calla lily called 'Treasure,' which makes a great cut flower.
The next group we have had much longer.

We moved this group of daylilies around in our backyard when we did a renovation last fall, and we no longer know the names of the varieties. They do seem happy in their new home, however.
We are getting into fall flower mode. Hydrangeas are looking good, as are the clethras and black-eyed Susans. We have also been cutting a couple of glads each day.
The house is looking a lot like a flower shop. I love it.
